Since starting The River Club Bootcamp my fitness levels have improved greatly, I have lost weight and now really enjoy exercising, which is definitely a first! Each session has a different focus which means your whole body gets a workout. Dan, Jez and Elliot are really supportive and find ways to make the sessions fun. Not only has Bootcamp been a great way to keep fit but a place to meet other people who help keep you going when it’s freezing cold and your legs just don’t want to work
After seeing other member’s significant results from previous bootcamps my girlfriend and I decided it would be a great way to burn away the recent festive excess and at the same time improve tone.
When told how many sessions a week this would involve I must admit I was already trying to find reasons why not to do it. However the choice of early morning, afternoon and evening sessions soon dismissed any such excuses.
We were given our Weight Loss Bootcamp Welcome Pack upon registration that includes the exercise schedule, suggested meal plans, nutritional weight loss principles and food & exercise diary.
We were split into 3 groups to give it a slightly competitive edge and at the end of each week everyone is weighed individually and recognition is given to the group who has lost the most weight. We also have a weekly group challenge at the end of our Saturday session, the winning team is awarded with an extra session the following week at a time of our choice. Personally I think a compulsory session should be awarded to the losing teams and the winning team treated to a spa weekend away!!
Bootcamp has been different to other fitness regimes, yes doing it outside in January means it may be cold but your body very soon adapts, you certainly don’t get bored and gives a great sense of wellbeing. Each week we have been put through different challenging and effective workouts. The help of the instructors and other bootcampers has encouraged me to keep going when I would have stopped if exercising alone. There is a great feeling of satisfaction after each session and an ever greater sense of achievement after each weekly weigh-in.
Currently at the end of our third week with just one week to go I have lost weight with toning my body and well on course on hitting my target weight loss. Personally it has been worth every penny and would certainly recommend The River Club Bootcamp to anyone considering losing weight fast using a healthy, fun and active approach rather than months of the more dull and tedious diets.
The River Club Bootcamp – what it means for me. Fitter, stronger, lighter. I made friends, had a laugh, found some motivation and know there is someone to help when need be. What helps is that everyone has different goals – it is not always about weight but about fitness and wellbeing, stress relief and motivation.
